Bio

Lídia Masllorens (born 1967 in Caldes de Malavella, Spain) is a contemporary visual artist from Catalonia.

She studied Fine Arts (painting) and also trained in photography, printmaking, and sculpture. Her work mainly focuses on large portraits on paper, often painted with her hands instead of brushes to convey emotions directly and spontaneously.

Masllorens is known for her expressive style: her monumental faces seem to fill the space and convey intense, raw emotions. She combines her artistic career with teaching drawing.

Since 2013, when she won a painting prize from the Fundació Vila Casas, her career has gained international attention. Her work has since been exhibited in various European cities, as well as in the United States and Japan.
